Jul. 21st, 2018 09:15 amohhhhh you all probably thought i was dead didn't you
haha nope. still alive, still kicking.
and thinking, admittedly, about some weird speculative shit as i sip this iced coffee i made. if you're gonna bust in here all 'lol reincarnation is actually impossible????? wow you're crazy?????? wow you're a retard to believe in anything at all wow lolololol??????' door's that way, jan. time and place for every conversation but right now i'm riding a thought train to a different place. let the train roll without standing up and being a jackass, please.
okay, so a friend and i recently had some (admittedly drunk) conversation about the concept of reincarnation, and i guess i found a damn good question to ask myself in light of it all. well, when you get down to bones beneath the philosophical meat quivering on them, it's also a legit question to ask any other artistic/writer-y types, too.
do you think your art or writing reflects any aspects of your past lives?
no i'm not talking about the writing/art that has megatron and rodimus indulging size/vore kink jesus christ
like, i'm talking about the subconscious cues and archetypes that we fulfill or incorporate while swept up in the endeavor. to put it in perspective, i myself did not decide, consciously, to incorporate so many blatant anti-oligarchal references and anti-collective viewpoints in my original stories. at the time, i just thought, 'oh wow, a story about angels/sentient computers/aliieeeeens this will be cool to write about!!!' and let myself surge off into the wind. but when i look back over my writing, when i look back over everything i worked into these stories along my way, i see a LOT of my subconscious at work, too.
cults, conspiracy, the general idea of a shadowy world operating beneath our feet is a very persistent theme in my work that i'm... legit only just now noticing. to be fair, you could make the argument that i write unconsciously from these hostile viewpoints to oligarchy, brazen corruption, and the shadowy culture that entails deals in smoky backrooms as an angry progressive that's been an angry progressive for a decade without even realizing it. that's a fair argument, and i'm willing to concede that if it comes down to it. but hell, i was writing out this kind of stuff before i had even the vaguest clue about politics or what the fuck was going on in our country, so i guess this is just one big 'dude what if' moment on my end.
I'UNNO MAN. i just thought it was interesting.
